Perched on the dunes with an unobstructed view of the ocean, the Karabana is unanimous among « healthy food » lovers! Its English founder, Barbara Peplow, wanted this place in the image of California. You will easily notice its wooden facade in chick yellow color. The charming and smiling team welcomes you. Throughout the day, fresh homemade fruit juices and some delicacies are offered. At lunchtime, you will find salads, bowls, sandwiches, burritos, fresh fruit juices and homemade desserts such as banana bread and its gourmet toppings… Special mention for the Cali Bowl with marinated salmon, rice, avocado, wakami, mango and edamame and its delicious sesame sauce. From 6 p.m., the juice bar turns into a cocktail bar with plates to share until sunset.

Are you looking for a rooftop facing the ocean, to snack, have a drink or simply sit down? Head to Le Lieu restaurant at the Chambre d’Amour, where you will love the style, atmosphere and decoration! Housed in the magnificent Art Deco building of the Espace de l’Océan, Le Lieu offers three distinct spaces: the rooftop, the terrace and a cozy dining room. On the menu, at lunchtime and in the evening, there is no shortage of proposals with refined starters such as langoustine cappuccino or the delight of semi-cooked foie gras, in dishes, meat or fish of the day with for example a hake pavé , Alle Vongole linguine, prime rib for 2 or duck in the spotlight. Without forgetting the scale dishes with prawns, whelks and oysters. For those with a sweet tooth, do we really have to tell you about the brioche French toast with Nutella? Heaven…

La Paillote Bleue is a warm gathering place where you come to enjoy generous Mediterranean cuisine, with family or friends in a chic and relaxed atmosphere at the end of the world. Located at Plage des Cavaliers, close to the ocean, the atmosphere is family-friendly: children have fun on the huge lawn while parents watch them with one eye on deckchairs facing the Rhune. On the menu side, we literally melt for the Chawarma: veal on a spit marinated in spices, fries, white sauce, served with pita bread; beetroot, feta & totopos hummus; the Vegetarian Thali, a dhal (red lentil curry), cucumber raita, vegetable curry, mango chutney samosa, papadum & coconut rice, the homemade banofee – crumble base, banana, dulce de leche and whipped cream… At the end of the day, come and enjoy the sunset with an assortment of delicious mezzes…
You can also try : « Les jardins de la Paillote Bleue » an oriental cuisine restaurant, next to the Plage des Corsaires, same owner, very nice (not in front of the see but on the Boulevard de l’Océan).

Le Carlos, Biarritz, Côte des Basques
Carlos was born in the 75’s at the foot of the mythical Sunset hotel on the no less famous Côte des Basques beach in Biarritz, right in the middle of the first surfers. Alternately architectural firm, restaurant, friends’ bar. Santana passed by. Carlos is reborn in 2019 as a place of a new kind, aware that its natural setting gives it a particular requirement. Lagunak, Chambre d’Amour, Anglet
Ideally located at the edge of the beach of the Petite Chambre d’Amour, the Lagunak (which means « friends » in Basque) is identifiable by its large wooden terrace which borders the ocean. Here, no frills, smiles and jokes abound, authenticity and atmosphere prevail. Every morning, the team offers a continental breakfast with coffee – croissant – scrambled eggs and homemade cookies. At lunchtime, you will find on the menu variations of fresh salads, burgers and a different dish every day. In the evening, the atmosphere changes and the proposals evolve with different platters to share: hams, cheeses, sausages, Itxassou pâtés and other local products.
